Staff Picks #2 - Finishing the Game [Movie]

I first heard about this movie a couple months ago when I was channel-surfing and landed on my school’s movie channel. I left the movie on for a while and I started to like what I was seeing. I’d been wanting to watch the full movie ever since, and finally I was able to get a DVD copy the other day. It was just released on DVD on 6/24/08 but it’s been on the scene for almost 3 months… I don’t have any sweet connections, so you’re getting a rip now. Winning an award from the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival and boasting a 6.6/10 [@IMDB] Finishing the Game: The Search for a New Bruce Lee is sure not to disappoint.
In 1973, martial arts great Bruce Lee died, his final film, Game of Death, left unfinished. With the public hungry for more Lee, movie execs decide to find a replacement. This outrageous satire looks at the entire process, from the oddball candidates to the greed and racial motivations that drive the final decision. There’s big business in the movies, and Finishing the Game skewers it with an eye for ’70s detail.
