Don’t try and sucker people into downloading this. I did download it and installed it only to have it ask for a serial AFTER installation. When you don’t input a serial and uncheck “activate after install” it simply enters into demo mode.

Until you actually try it yourself you’d best not listen to what the “INFO” says.

megatron you’re not nearly as smart as you think you are. Did you see the letters OEM in the title???? Do you know what they mean?

Equally we are a scene release blog, i don’t suppose you know what that means either.

Every comment you post here is ill informed and insulting. We absolutely have nothing to gain from suckering people into downloads. people download from here because they trust us.

Then please explain why it requires a serial number upon installation. Instead of trying to retaliate, why don’t you guys explain why it installs like a demo. I don’t care if its an OEM or what this website is, take this opportunity to explain to me and others why this version of “No serial or activation required” windows does indeed require a serial and activation.

you’ve accused our uploaders twice of trying to exploit our visitors, which everyone who comes here knows is not the case.

In essence we are a scene blog and provide scene releases, as is, the scene is self regulating with a number of checks and balances. because the scene is competitive they don’t hesitate to ‘nuke’ other groups’ releases. since that has not happened in this case we can assume the release is good.

after that you are asking me to use my personal computer knowledge to help you… which is not something i especially feel inclined to do, given your comments here. feel free to ask in the forum.

I don’t care that this website or others like it try to “self regulate” with your system of “checks and balances”. Whatever floats your boat, I couldn’t care less. What I am concerned about are others, as well as myself, who waste time and bandwidth on large downloads that are not what they are advertised as. I have been visiting this website for quite some time and have enjoyed many software packages and movies and for that I am thankful. I do not chastise this site nor its users/posters but I do find it particularly perturbing to feel mislead and not get an answer to a simple question when I’ve given ample opportunity.

If you don’t feel so inclined as to explain as to why this version of Windows in fact does require a serial and activation, then by all means, at least provide a link that explains the situation so that I may come back here and eat crow. Until then, every word I read here trying to belittle me will reek of utter BS.

You’d be better off going here to download Windows 7. It’s at least a 90 day demo straight from Microsoft rather than a 30 day demo which is what this post is.

I’m still waiting to hear why the download of Windows 7 in this post requires a serial and activation, and if you can’t get around it, how to.

may i just ask what system you using?

Just an FYI for you guys who have installed this demo of Windows 7. Its common knowledge at this point that you can extend the 30 day demo by opening up the command prompt and typing:

slmgr -rearm

Afterwards you’ll need to restart your PC but you will have an additional 30 days to run W7. Make sure you do this at the end of the initial 30 days as you can only run this command a limited number of times. It’s 2 or 3 times total.

Of course there is a lesser known secret in that you can make a change in the registry to allow you to extend the demo an unlimited number of times. If you feel comfortable enough, go into your registry and change the following:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\SoftwareProtectionPlatform]

the value should be 0, simply change it to 1 and then extend the demo with the previously mentioned command. This will allow you to extend the demo another 30 days again. at this point, you will have to go into the registry and make this change and then run the command again to extend the demo to continue using it as an unlimited demo.

Now if your savvy enough and know how to create a batch file, you can do that and simply double click it every 30 days to extend your demo. This is the safest and most legal way to use W7.

There is NO SUCH THING as a version of windows that requires no serial nor activation.

i have Hp dv6000 runing x64 from this download and Toshiba Satellite P105 x86 from this download ….i just dnt want ppl badmouth the site for no reason…..u seem to be coming back alot…. unless u got beef with the stafff i dont see what this fuzz is about

um, yeah, i can install this version of windows and have it running for two days without problems too. After about 10 days you will be asked to activate.

Also, nobody is badmouthing the staff.

I’m not arguing anything. I’m simply waiting for a response to my question of how you are installing this demo and its not asking you for a serial or to activate. Essentially I’m begging someone to tell me what I am doing wrong so that I may install this and come back here and apologize, but it ain’t gonna happen.

I have tried twice now to install this with the same outcome. Installed from disk only to have it ask for a serial upon completion of installation. I uncheck activate after install and low and behold after installation is done, what do you know but its in demo mode. 30 days to activate and the countdown begins.

You can sit there and pretend that BIE is the holy anti Microsoft God and everything they release is gold but if this doesn’t perform as BIE intended on my machine, then something is wrong with their release.

People go easy on the Megatron, it is what has come to be expected of Newbs. They cannot think or conduct basic research for themselves and expect the rest of the world to do it for them.

Megatron, your best bet which will ease your angst ridden mind is to go purchase a copy of 7 from M$ and leave the Scene releases to people with a little bit of knowledge.

x86 RS links are dead and I am in the process of reupping, however only have a 1.5/.256 link and so it is taking awhile. Will post when I have it up

Wow, you guys are so full of yourselves. It’s not rocket science installing Windows. If attempting to diminish others knowledge to feel better about your own limited knowledge makes you feel better, then so be it.

It’s funny though, you guys sit there and talk all this garbage about how somehow I don’t know how to install Windows and that I’m some kind of “newb” but yet nobody can provide one simple link that would support you so you can justify your argument that I’m misinformed. Sounding like the problem is you cannot follow simple instructions in the NFO. When the NFO states quite clearly “Install to unpartitioned space without serial” then follow the instructions. If you have a problem with following explicit instructions, dont blame other people, it is your failing. Because as you have conveniently stated “It’s not rocket science installing Windows”.

Maybe you should go buy a PS3, Xbox or Wii. They are very simple pieces of technology which require no thought on your behalf and you can play all the games you want to. Don’t get them chipped though as you will just fall into the same trap as you have with PC’s.

Honestly, I laughed when I saw the Vista boot screen on this version of Windows. So I’m not sure how reliable it is knowing its been “played with”. At some point it will come up not genuine anyways so I’m better off not using it.

I got upset when I wasted time and bandwidth downloading what was advertised as one thing but was another, for whatever reason. And when I stumbled across unhelpful 15 year olds it simply made it worse. You would like to think that you took the high ride in dealing with me in this situation and made you feel better by not offering assistance but in reality, your response was no better than mine. So keep up the good work and I’ll expect that if I return I’ll see that I’ve been banned.

Tested on VM (Virtual Machine); works like a charm. Update with M$ and not once was I asked to activate or given a timer.

Wow. I couldn’t stop myself from reading all the comments. What a sense of entitlement. I don’t think he listed his system to ask for help. I think it was more “look how big my tool is”.

I forgot to check the site for a whole week so all the links are dead. My bad. Any chance of a re-up for us slackers? If not I’ll keep a better watch for the next one. FYI to anymore who are too late like me they seem to be trying to update this monthly. In the last 3 months there has been an updated release between the first and second week of the month (Same as this – Ultimate 64 and 86) So if you don’t want to risk it with a P2P release just wait a few weeks and the magic software fairies may return with another gift. I was looking for an excuse to procrastinate a little longer anyway.

Hi all i have read all the comment and just joined the forum as i wanted to post a comment i admit i know very little about computers (real old prick) but if i am going to download this version and it is a big download for me will i be able to do a clean install and will it end up being a demo or not.

Just a short note i feel the mods here have been very fair with Megatron but i dont think he should be banned as his input seems good maybe the way the man goes about asking needs some looking into but not just banning him.

1) if you had read the NFO it would tell you to uncheck the Activate windows automatically button upon install.
2)It would also be good of you to read where it says clean installs only.
3) If you can get around an IP block you should be able to install a copy of windows from a scene release? I mean wtf? lol..
4)Installed this on about 20+ machines already without fail all of them working without any kind of activation.
5)Instead of bitching and taking a demanding tone which btw you set, why dont you ask the question of hey has anyone installed this because it didnt seam to work right on my machine?

Because I’m curious I’m gonna test it too, but I would recommend that you wait for another release.

Damit all these people saying its nuked are WRONG!!!!
I installed this 3 weeks ago and so far everything is perfect and i have been downloading updates automatically and still works perfectly

As mentionned 2 post above I decided to test this release on an old platform.
Took me more time that I thought because it would not boot from my USB DVD.
Nevertheless, when requested for a serial, simply press enter. A cmd window will open later and take care of the registration.
After completion check in Control Panel/System & Security/System: Windows is activated with an OEM product ID.
So this relase is actually working fine (dobe one update so far).
