ONEDDL – One Stop Rapidshare Links

Hey guys, just thought I would keep you informed as to why we had a few hours downtime recently. One of the routers at our hosts datacentre was faulty and it took them longer than they thought to fix it. At one stage we received an email saying the situation was resolved, but then we went down about five minutes later. I think its safe to say we are fine now.

On that note however, we will have a period of downtime in the near future, hopefully only for a short period of time, while we upgrade various things on the servers. We will let you know when this is nearer the time.

This is a bit of a first for us as a site, but this is such a great resource that I don’t think it should go amiss.

Anyhow, if you have ever wanted to check a release that has pre’d in the scene, check when it was released, check if its been nuked, check the file count, check the video information or just want to grab the nfo/sfv/m3u then dup3.me is the place to do it.

This latest carnation of the popular web database is v4.0 and it comes with a new design (mostly all of it in ascii) and new coding. The effect creates a faster and more aesthetically pleasing site to use, perhaps now a possible contender to the favorite orlydb. And if this wasn’t enough its bursting with rich new features, including an nfo viewer (but its no nfomation ) and the ability to choose what colours you would like to view it in.

I have included a sample image of a few pre’s from yesterday below, but like they say: “the proof is in the pudding” (or something like that), so go out and try it for yourselves now!

Hey everyone,
The site is hungover and cannot remember much about the past 5 days.
Good thing we try to record everything in the forum and most of the missing content is there (we create a forum entry for every front-page entry). Also, there are a lot of active forum members who post a lot of things we miss and mirrors to things we post.

UPDATE: I must also unfortunately announce the departure of someone who has been here pretty much since the beggining, I am of course talking about our OneDDL veteran Smokey. Since joining the forum (probably about 2 years ago) when we became OneDDL he easily became a valued a respected member of the site and for the last year retained the post of forum admin, following some awesome times as a moderator. I hope you all can join with me in wishing him luck and hope that he can return every now and then.

One of our active forum members asks to join the uploading team about two months ago. He learns the ropes quickly and soon earns the respect of our members for pumping out a massive collection of over 200 posts.
Unfortunately, for unknown reasons to me, Coolscorp will be leaving or ‘taking a break’ from the site for a while as he will not have internet access starting in 2010.

There was a short downtime < 1hr where RSMonkey and OneDDL.CanHaz.it were pointing to OneDDL email. This has been fixed. Sorry for the error.

UPDATE: Everything should be back to normal!

Hello everyone, the site is back up…for the most part anyway! There may be a few errors, at the moment we are just having trouble with a few plugins and of course nfomation.net and rsmonkey.com are having slight trouble. Please be patient while we try to fix these problems, all should be right as rain tomorrow.

Another month passes, so does another milestone. This time its the big ‘five-oh.’ So once again I just want to thank everyone for making this site what is its today, especially our awesome upload team!

We switched to a new httpd last week which has given us a much faster site and should allow for reasonable expansion, so it can only get better. I just wanted to make clear these statistics were collected from statcounter, which is not terribly reliable, I will nonetheless happily accept this figure. Google puts us somewhere around 40,000/day, either way its a hefty amount so well done!

UPDATE:Everything should be working as normal now.

My apologies for those of you who are not used to seeing this page when visiting either rsmonkey.com or nfomation.net. Hopefully the situation will be resolved shortly.

To try and combat the ever increasing load on our servers we have changed to a different httpd. Currently this is working in full force on the main site, forums and images. Unfortunately we are unable to get the other sites up just yet, but hopefully this will be fixed soon, until then please just be patient.

If you experience any problems on the main site please post them in the comments section of this post, preferably with the error message you get.

UPDATE: I just did a small test and went on the Radar Stats site with my adblock off and got a load of popups. Radar stats has now been removed.

I just wanted to take the opportunity to apologise for the recent state of ‘intrusive’ advertising which has appeared on the site in the form of the popunder adverts for neostatus and googlefiles. It has never been my objective to pollute your experience in such a way and I wanted to let you know I would never have instigated such a move myself.

When the problem arose it was my choice to wait and see if they would go away by themselves, but following a post in our forums feedback section I decided to take further action. I emailed adbrite yesterday and I believe they have taken action to remove the offending adverts, this is probably why most of the ad zones are now displaying an ‘Advertise on the site’ banner. If such a problem should arise again please start a thread in our feedback forum and we will try to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

I just want to take this opportunity to remind people that we don’t make a profit from the site. As it stands we actually make a loss each month, I do however put this down to personal expense and I am happy to continue doing so. If we ever did make more than the costs of the servers then we would just have to upgrade.

Hope you are all glad we are back, heres a little info on what went wrong. Friday night sometime we started having server issues, while both me and ionoff where in the land of nod. Turns out this idiot at our host, who serves the database files, spilt wine on them. When I awoke to the situation I only made the problem worse trying to clean them off. Ionoff finally came online later and suggested we dry them on the radiator, the result is what you have before you…bravo!

So I’m guessing some people are enjoying the return of some of their favorite tv shows (many thanks to ionoff for staying awake…I have no stamina atm). In any case its clear they certianly had an effect on our daily visitor count as today saw us breach the 30,000 barrier. I will update you with the exact figure when the day is over. So many thanks to the OneDDL staff and everyone who contributes and visits the site, its a pleasure to have you on board!

I’d just like to take this opportunity (shame about the number of this post) to welcome a new uploader to our team. He’s only been with us a few days but has already uploaded masses of Xbox360 games and 720p movies. We hope he will continue to do so, although he is free to post whatever he wants…welcome mo3adz!

Sorry for all the site news and announcement messages we have been having latly but this one cannot go a miss. I hope you can all welcome a new member to the OneDDL network…enter NFOmation.net! We had a poll about making our nfo uploader public and the results justified the creation of this new site.

Now you too can upload nfo’s and share them with your friends (sorry if that sounded corney). I think you can all agree that this site is one-of-a-kind as it allows for three seperate viewing formats, so you can take away the image in png format, copy it as text or just download it direct to your computer. Thank ionoff for the amazing coding!

My apologies for the downtime, we had scheduled it but thought it best not to tell you because we didn’t think it would take too long. We needed to perform some essential maintence on the server and not everything went as planned to begin with, but we pulled through in the end…thanks for your patience!

Yup, you read the title correct. We have once again made another change.

We have changed the way you view NFO files on this site. It is a nice new clean layout that captures the feel of the new site design. It has some additional new features such as text view modes. Play around with it, get familiar with it.
