I have never watched a series of Dexter before but I have also never seen a TV Series in BDRip, here goes nothing!
Based on novels by author Jeff Lindsay, Dexter follows the life of Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall), a charismatic blood spatter analyst who works in the forensics at the Miami Metro Police Department. On the outside, Dexter seems like the perfect guy — he has a sister, Debra (Jennifer Carpenter), that adores him and a steady girlfriend, Rita (Julie Benz), with two kids that look up to him. However, what they don’t know is that Dexter moonlights as a serial killer, only he isn’t your typical killer. Basing his life on the teachings of his foster father, Dexter only kills people who truly deserve it: he ensures that those who got away with horrible crimes will never kill again.

Our Father – Dexter continues to live his life according to his newly revised code. Deb is asked to help IA by investigating another officer. Batista is promoted to Sergeant ( Doake’s old title). While trying to apprehend a new victim, Dex stumbles upon someone not in the plan. After an altercation, Dex is forced to kill the unknown man. Immediately after, the unknown man is recognized as the ADA’s brother. The ADA, Miguel Prado (Jimmy Smits), invites Dex to his slain brother’s wake. Dex blows off Deb for their annual celebration of Harry’s birthday. Rita tells Dex she is pregnant.

All In The Family – Ramon’s career may be in jeopardy due to his obsession with Oscar’s killer. Meanwhile, Dexter does a great job in keeping Ramon off balance by manipulation. Deb refuses to “be a rat” after Internal Affairs presses her to come up with more dirt on Quinn. Also, Rita and Dexter decide it’s time to tell the children about her “condition,” and Angel’s quest for companionship nearly get’s him in deep water.

Turning Biminese – As Dexter struggles when Rita pushes to move in together before getting married, Miguel tells Dexter that a husband has murdered his two wives for a financial gain and gotten away with it. Dexter finds this to be the perfect candidate to get away and satisfy that dark urge which every man with relationship pressures go through. Dexter tracks the murderer to Bimini. While he is on the hunt, Rita disappears due to a medical emergency. Meanwhile, Debra works with Anton, her confidential informant to track down one of Freebo’s criminal confidants. But Oddly enough Debra finds herself attracted to Anton.

But Dexter doesn’t realize that this has only whetted Miguel’s appetite. Rita finds herself losing control because of the pregnancy. She becomes worried that Dexter may get fed up with her. Because of her hard work, Debra finds herself one step closer to catching the Skinner. But after she finds out a secret about her new boyfriend, Anton, he disappears on her.

Taking a bluray and turning it into a 360 MB, 700 Kbps xvid file at 624x352 is a crying shame — it looks like crap.
I don’t get why we’re all still slaves to the minority of idiots who choose to burn their content to CD disks and watch it on five year old stand-alone players. Aren’t most of us watching this stuff on players that stream data (no optical disk required), accept higher resolutions, and play better codecs?
Using x264 codec, higher bitrate, and higher resolution is the only appropriate method for sharing a bluray rip. If people aren’t willing to download at least a gig for 58 minutes of video, they should just go read a book.

Ever considered the people who have a bad internet connection? My home one is 512k (theres nothing I can do about it) and it takes me about 2hrs to download one xvid 350mb tv show. Can you please tell me why I should be forced to wait over 5 hours for a show you rightly said may only last 58min?

If you have a bad connection then download one of the small-file-size, already-shitty-looking versions that are out there (e.g., HDTV-rip or DSR).
Or, you could just queue the download into a download manager and let it run overnight. (Don’t cry to me about a 512 Kbps download connection… for several years I got all my content over a hobbled connection that only gave me about 5 KB/sec.)
My point is this: why bother using a bluray source if you’re going to pound the shit out of it during the encode? These don’t look any better than the non blu-ray rips that are already out there.
And oh yeah, a 512 Kbps connection should get you 64 KB/sec, or 3.75 MB/min. A one-gig show would only take you 4.4 hours to download, not over five.

I really hate to comment on your math, I love these kind of discussion posts… :/ … but, one hr of 720p x264 video /w DTS audio = about 2.65gb, not 1gb, now using your calculations, I can see > 5.

1) Your example is using a standard used by “SiNNERS”, but that’s not the only bitrate setting that’s out there. Some movies get knocked down into the 2 GB range for 720P, and they still look 100x better than this shitty encode.
2) I never said it had to be 720P (i.e., 1280 pixels wide) to look good. NewArtRiot, for example, takes BDrips down to ~800 pixels wide, and they look great.
3) Your example uses DTS audio, which adds to the overall file size. AC3 is 1/3 the size of DTS, and AAC would be 1/10 the size of DTS.
4) Don’t worry about it: I’m not going to download any more of the episodes. But I will feel free to mention how CRAPPY these look so people think twice before wasting the time/effort/bandwidth on downloading them all. Have a look at one episode, and if you can gag it down, more power to you.
5) This encode prove’s Mark Twain’s point: there really are no standards of taste.

Why would you want to degrade the quality of the rip? you seem to be so paranoid about it for going lower?
Why lose DTS, don’t you have an audio receiver that can decode it and get the true meaning of the Blueray?
But, I guess everyone has their price for compromise.
But, this is an old topic now, not even front page anymore.
I actually think that’s a load of bollocks. I don’t think that many people are burning to CD. But the notion that everyone is streaming HD media around their homes is is complete shit. Most people are burning to DVD, or putting the files on memory stick and playing on standalone players.
Look at the numbers of people downloading the HD content as against the SD.

If people are putting the files onto DVD or memory stick then shows don’t have to be encoded to a filesize equivalent to 1/2 CD.
